Assessment Appeal Services

Most localities determine your property tax burden based on an ad valorem (Latin for "according to value") assessment of the property's value. Sometimes, this results in an increase in your property tax amount and you may feel that the new property tax amount is too high.

Matters like this can often be resolved with a phone call to your local tax assessor. However, if after discussing your assessment with them, you still feel as though your property was overvalued, a professional, independent, third-party appraiser is often your best bet in proving your case. That's where we come in.

When you hire us for an assessment appeal, you're commissioning  an independent, third-party professional appraisal report. As such we do our own evaluation, beginning to end. While everyone always hopes for a positive outcome, this does sometimes mean that our appraisal will confirm your tax assessor's value is correct.

If our report does determine that your property may have been overvalued for local tax purposes, we are also available to testify at assessment appeal hearing. Please note that this service is billed separately from the fee for the appraisal report itself.
